Overview
As a Vehicle Technician with Northgate Vehicle Hire in Borehamwood, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining a diverse fleet of vans and cars. With a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency, you’ll ensure vehicles are serviced, repaired, and inspected to the highest standards, supporting the company’s mission to deliver reliable mobility solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a fleet of approximately 68,000 vehicles, including vans and cars.
- Diagnose and rectify both mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and complete inspections to ensure roadworthiness and legal compliance.
- Use your expertise to support workshop productivity, minimize vehicle downtime, and support a clean, safe working environment.
- Complete all documentation accurately and support a high standard of workshop safety and quality.
Must-Have Criteria
- Level 3 qualification in vehicle repair or similar.
- Experience working on Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) is advantageous.
- Able to work confidently without unnecessary fuss, as significant investment is made in training and development.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Knowledge of hybrid, electric, tail lift, or specialist vehicle systems.
- Previous experience in fleet maintenance or similar roles.
