We are recruiting for an experienced Workshop Manager, Workshop Supervisor, Lead Technician or HGV Technician to join a commercial vehicle workshop in Oldbury. Applicants must hold a Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance, Engineering or equivalent, a Category C UK Driving Licence and have the right to work in the UK. This is a hands-on supervisory position, so candidates must be comfortable supporting workshop operations while carrying out commercial vehicle maintenance and repairs.

Company
A well-established commercial vehicle rental and fleet services operation with a strong UK presence. The workshop supports a broad and varied fleet, which can include vans, light commercial vehicles, HGVs, refrigerated vehicles, electric vans and specialist vehicles. The role is focused on keeping vehicles safe, compliant, reliable and available for customers through high-quality maintenance, repair and inspection work.
Role
• Supervise Technicians and manage day-to-day workshop productivity
• Carry out and oversee commercial vehicle servicing, diagnostics and repairs
• Manage preventative maintenance and MOT preparation
• Monitor technician performance, training, appraisals, attendance and holidays
• Coordinate workshop stock and authorise overtime where required
• Ensure Health & Safety requirements and workshop procedures are followed
• Complete Competent Person assessments and support ongoing technician development
• Attend customer sites for servicing and repair work when required
Requirements
• Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance, Engineering or equivalent
• Category C UK Driving Licence
• Experience working on HGVs, LCVs or commercial vehicles
• Strong servicing, diagnostics and mechanical repair experience
• Previous supervisory, Lead Technician or Workshop Supervisor experience is preferred
• Ability to lead technicians while remaining hands-on within the workshop
• Competent using Microsoft Excel
• Right to work in the UK
• Ability to pass required criminality, financial and employment-reference security checks
