About the Role
In this vital position, you’ll oversee the journey of each vehicle through the repair process—from initial assessment to final quality control and customer handover. Your leadership will ensure repairs are completed on time, to the highest standards, and in line with manufacturer guidelines. You’ll support our technicians, manage workflows, and uphold safety and quality standards across the workshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily workshop operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely vehicle turnaround
- Oversee vehicle progress, monitor repair times, and address any delays
- Perform thorough quality checks at all stages to guarantee workmanship, fit, and finish meet standards
- Control repair estimates, supplements, and authorizations, reviewing additional work where needed
- Collaborate with estimators, technicians, parts, and management teams to optimise repair processes
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and quality records
- Proactively resolve quality issues before vehicles are returned to customers
- Follow correct procedures for ADAS, calibration, diagnostics, and modern vehicle technologies
- Ensure safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction are always prioritised
- Support adherence to BS 10125 standards and repair procedures
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in accident repair or bodyshops, ideally as a Workshop or Bodyshop Controller
- Strong knowledge of modern vehicle repair techniques, including ADAS and diagnostics
- Experience controlling repairs, quotes, supplements, and authorizations
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards
Nice-to-Have
- Knowledge of BS 10125:2022 and quality control requirements
- Familiarity with EV/hybrid vehicle repairs and calibrations
