Job Description

Roadside Technician (Field based) providing roadside assistance for a national breakdown company with over 15 million members. Great salary, benefits, overtime and bonus opportunities.

Must have right to work in the UK status.

Location: Bridgwater

Pay / salary: £36,400 OTE: Up to £61,000

 

Shift and schedule for the Roadside Technician role

40 hours per week between 6am and 12pm, Monday to Sunday. Shifts known 4 months in advance. Flexi overtime at x1.5 and / or optional fixed overtime at £30 per hour. All hours start and stop from home, as soon as you start the van.

Job Responsibilities for the Roadside Technician role

· Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.

· Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.

· Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.

· Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible, ensuring member mobility.

· Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.

· Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.

 

What you’ll need to a be considered for the Roadside Technician role

· Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, or equivalent)

· Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.

· A customer-focused approach

· Must have a full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans
