Job Description

Roadside Technician (Field based) providing roadside assistance for a national breakdown company with over 15 million members. Great salary, benefits, overtime and bonus opportunities.

Pay / salary: £36,400 Basic + Bonus + Overtime at £26.25ph + Company Van + Fuel Card + Tools Provide OTE £61,000+ (Top Performers earning a lot more!)

Shift and schedule for the Roadside Technician role
Monday – Sunday, 40 hours per week, between 6am and 12pm (could be 9am – 5pm or 8am – 4pm etc, shifts vary). You get your rota 12 months in advance, so you can plan accordingly. All hours start and stop from home, as soon as you start the van.

Job Responsibilities for the Roadside Technician role
  • Attend roadside breakdowns and assess vehicle faults quickly and accurately.
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs at the roadside, including battery replacements, wheel changes, and minor engine fixes.
  • Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and determine repair options.
  • Provide temporary solutions when full repair isn’t possible, ensuring member mobility.
  • Advise members clearly on next steps, including recovery if needed.
  • Work safely and efficiently in varied environments and conditions.

What you’ll need to a be considered for the Roadside Technician role
  • Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent)
  • Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
  • A customer-focused approach
  • Must have a full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans
