Job Description

Our Client, a leading car manufacturer are currently looking for a General Sales Manager to join their business based out of their Reading Dealership. This role offers uncapped earning potential in a team that are currently overachieving on their targets.  


This is a great opportunity for an experienced General Sales Manager who is wanting to increase their OTE and knowledge of the Hybrid market, or a time served Used/New Car Sales Manager looking for their next step.

to be suitable for this role you must come from the Automotive industry and have had experience managing sales teams.

About the role


 
  • Keep track of the dealership’s financial performance
  • Look after both the New and Used car departments
  • Be in charge of the total cost of the site across all departments
  • Control the invoicing procedure to ensure accuracy on all sales
  • Review the costs and effectiveness of marketing spend regularly for the department
  • Make sure that we are spending our market budget effectively and in the right areas
  • Keep staff attrition low and employee happiness high
  • Ensure the team follows the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) standards so all finance products that are sold meet the guidelines
  • Present at internal meetings, providing updates to Senior Management on the department performance, target results and future plans
  • Carry out other duties when needed at the Centre.  i.e. General Manager cover
  • Ensure New Vehicle & Demonstrator stock is managed in accordance with Our Client’s policies and manufacturer programmes
  • Ensure Used Vehicle stock is up to date and reviewed regularly  
  • Manage the Showroom & Used Car displays ensuring the presentation of each vehicle is immaculate
  • Maintain the highest CSI scores possible at all times
  • Go to events to increase knowledge and awareness of our client’s brand
  •  

About you
 
  • You must have previous experience as a General Sales Manager/GSM within a main dealer
  • An experienced Used/new Car Sales Manager will be considered
  • Be a confident and enthusiastic person with a drive to succeed
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills both with customers and staff
  • Have to have experience in both New and Used vehicles
  • Be an experienced manager
